Brad Livingston Presentation Information

Back-to-back explosions!! 100% preventable!! “I didn’t think anything like this could ever happen to me! How long before I die?”

In his presentation, Brad Livingston explains about each of these contributing factors - Pride; Shortcuts; Attitude; Complacency, and how they have affected every day of the rest of his life, and, quite unfortunately, many other lives. These factors exist in EVERY line of work, in EVERY type of business, so it’s not the explosions that Brad addresses as much as it is the contributing factors. Brad makes it clear why you cannot allow them to be a part of your workplace.

The ‘Ripple Effect’ – Brad has a unique way of making the audience think about how their family would handle it if they were the one seriously injured, or killed. As an inspirational speaker, he makes them realize how far, how fast, and how deep that ripple effect goes. When he finishes talking about a 'True Life' paper his youngest daughter had to write in high school, and he continues on about a discussion he had with his middle daughter 6 years after the explosions, in which she said to him, "Dad, was I not important enough to you …..", the audience will be thinking beyond themselves, many of them for the first time.

Brad's desire and passion is to speak to every employee of every company BEFORE they are injured, or killed! Now, as a motivational safety speaker, Brad makes a massive contribution to changing, or strengthening, the safety culture for the companies he speaks for. Speaking on the importance of workplace safety, Brad can get the attention of every listener, from a new-hire to the 30 year veteran. The feedback he receives is proof of this.

Brad’s just another regular guy, asking - “Do you think it can’t happen to you?”

Kayla Rath

Kayla Rath was nine years old when her father, Brad Livingston, was involved in two back-to-back workplace explosions. For three months, Kayla and her two sisters lived with family members while their mother sat with Brad as he fought to stay alive in a Texas hospital. The family then moved to a city over 600 miles away from home to be with their dad as he went through his months of rehabilitation.

You go to work every day expecting to come home to your family at night. But what if you don’t?  What if you take shortcuts?  What if you let pride and complacency get in the way of you safely doing your job?  You could be hurt or killed, and then what happens to your family? The people you love most; what impact do your decisions have on them?

Kayla Rath travels the country telling her story about the 100% preventable, work place accident that her father was involved in that changed the course of her life, and the lives of her entire family. From the early days after the explosions, to the effect it still has on her 27 years later, Kayla speaks to the heartache and ultimately healing that came from an unsafe act in the workplace.
